LABORATORY
In our testing laboratory, we strive to offer a wide range of specialized services to meet our customers’ needs. Among the main activities we offer failure analysis, mechanical testing, metallographic examinations, chemical analysis, and corrosion.
WORKSHOP
Our workshop is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery. We are able to perform specimen machining on a wide range of materials, ensuring high precision. Our specimens undergo quality control to ensure finished products in accordance with international standards.
COURSES
With a fully equipped training room, we are able to offer a comprehensive training service through the delivery of structured catalog courses that allow the participant to visit the SMT laboratory, thus putting the theory learned into practice.

Mechanical tests are tests conducted on materials to determine their mechanical properties, such as strength, hardness, elasticity and toughness. The SMT laboratory offers tensile, hardness, resilience, bend, creep and Drop Weight Tests.

FRACTURE AND FATIGUE
Fracture mechanics and fatigue tests evaluate the resistance of materials to crack propagation under stress and the durability of materials under cyclic loads. The SMT laboratory offers C.T.O.D tests, KIC tests, JIC tests and fatigue tests, among others.

METALLOGRAPHIC EXAMINATIONS
Metallographic examinations, subdivided into macrographic and micrographic, allow analysis of the internal structure and surface characteristics of metallic materials. The SMT laboratory offers fractographic examinations, metallographic replicas and micrographic surface measurements, which are essential for assessing defects and integrity of metallic components.

Failure analysis is a specific investigation that, through observations and testing, can identify how failure or deterioration of a component occurred and trace it back to the root cause.
