Our solutions fordestructive chemical analysis on metallic materials are state-of-the-art, using advanced instruments capable of analyzing samples with irregular shapes, powders or chips.
We use microwave mineralization followed by composition determination by ICP-OES.
These techniques operate in the liquid phase, allowing the determination of the concentration of almost all the elements in the periodic table with higher accuracies than scintillation techniques, which operate in the solid state.
The ability to work independently of sample geometry allows for the analysis of small items or items with irregular surfaces, low thicknesses, or complex geometries that would otherwise be impossible to analyze.
ICP-OES: Plasma Optical Emission
The ICP-OES technique exploits phenomena similar to those of spark instruments. Elements in solution are excited by a plasma, subsequently emitting light.
The breakdown of the light spectrum allows the identification of wavelengths, which can be directly correlated to the elemental composition of the alloy, both qualitatively (type of element) and quantitatively (concentration).
One of the main advantages of ICP-OES is the ability to work with a liquid obtained from the mineralization of the alloy, ensuring greater homogeneity of the sample and, consequently, more reproducible data and reduced measurement uncertainties.
Using ICP techniques, we can analyze almost all the elements in the periodic table except C, O, N, H, P, and S, offering precise and detailed analysis for every need.
